Hadley's parents Jen and Jake and neighbors Kendel and Leroy Hofer helped their friend, rancher Ronnie Oyloe, trail 20 1-yr-old percheron geldings to Oyloe's ranch on a 40-mile drive along roads and across the plains of western North Dakota.

With the help of two couples — Jen and Jake Henderson, who rent a house on Oyloe’s property, and neighbors Kendel and Leroy Hofer, the five of them worked in unison to move the horses from their original location just south of Ray, ND. Thousands have moved to the area with hopes of landing high paying jobs in the oil field, but the city severely lacks housing to support the influx. The city’s current population is estimated to be between 25,000 and 33,000, more than double that of the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau figure of 14,700.
