Vanessa Hernandez, 37 is helped back keeping her from falling into the street at her home as she steps down onto the street to catch a taxi following amputation surgery of her left leg on March 26, 2019, in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. Hernandez had been suffering from elephantiasis on her left leg for many years and had finally decided to undergo amputation and live with a prosthetic leg preferring that over the extra weight of her previous leg. Her family and friends have all been very supportive of her decision.
